June 2015 – Swissbit X-60m Series Embedded Storage SSDs Deliver Leading Edge Performance and Reliability for Industrial and Netcom Applications

Bronschhofen, Switzerland  – Swissbit, a leading provider of memory and embedded storage products and services for high reliability computing systems, has announced the launch of its next generation X-60m Series mSATA Solid-State Drive (SSD) product family. Compliant with the latest SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) interface specification, these drives deliver leading edge performance and reliability to customers in the most demanding industrial, network and communication and automotive sectors. X-60m drives are fully compliant with the JEDEC MO-300A Standard (50.8 x 29.85 x 3.5mm) and well suited for embedded applications needing high performance, non-volatile SSD storage in a compact, removable form-factor.

The X-60m series offers exceptional performance, achieving sequential read/write speeds of up to 525MB/s and 450MB/s, respectively. Industrial applications with a need for random read/write performance will enjoy an impressive data rate up to 75,000 IOPS for transfer sizes of 4KB and queue depths of 32.

The X-60m addresses the needs of today’s industrial, network and communication, and other applications that place higher demands on embedded storage drives in terms of operating environments. Swissbit’s X-60m SSDs are designed and qualified to deliver reliable operation over both Commercial (0°C to +70°C) and Industrial (-40°C to +85°C) temperature ranges. The X-60m supports a maximum shock / vibration rating of 2000G / 20G as per MIL-STD810 and is rated at over 2,000,000 hours MTBF.

Swissbit’s X-60m SSD products offer a wide range of hardware and firmware based features that maximize performance, reliability and endurance over the drive lifetime. Sophisticated wear leveling and bad block management techniques ensure that flash blocks are used sparingly and equally in order to prolong drive lifetime. Intelligent power failure protection and recovery mechanisms guard against data corruption in the event of an unexpected power loss. Enhanced drive lifetime monitoring features enable users to access detailed drive lifetime statistics and assist in mitigating a potential failure, avoiding unexpected data loss and system downtime. Swissbit’s Data Care Management firmware suite includes Adaptive Read Refresh, Background Media Scan, Dynamic Bad Block Remapping, and Write Amplification Reduction. For applications requiring higher levels of security and data protection, AES-256 encryption support can be provided upon request.

“The X-60m Series SSDs leverage the latest generation SATA controller and NAND Flash technology to deliver class-leading performance levels. Our expertise enables us to combine this with the reliability and confidence that our OEM and ODM customers have come to expect from Swissbit,” said Grady Lambert, Business Unit Manager for Swissbit’s Embedded Storage Product Line.
